Commercial & Industrial Incentives

Groton Utilities/Bozrah Light & Power offers business customers a variety of energy conservation programs to help reduce and manage energy costs. These programs are designed to help businesses reduce their energy costs by installing more energy efficient lighting, air conditioning and HVAC installations, and improved automation systems including electric motors and variable frequency drives.

Due to limited funds available in 2026, GU and BLP are providing rebate incentives on a case-by-case basis.  GU/BLP will continue to review commercial lighting, HVAC, and heat pump water heater applications along with our custom application program that provides incentives for improved energy efficiencies.

Eligibility Requirements

• Only commercial electric customers of Groton Utilities are eligible
• All commercial rebate incentives are subject to a mandatory pre-approval process;  Rebates will not be honored for applications received without prior authorization. 
• Completed applications must be submitted within 30 days of the equipment installation to be eligible for rebates
• Customer Accounts must be paid in full and at a zero balance prior to receiving rebate payments.
• The maximum rebates allowed per any consecutive 12 month period: $25k/unit, $50k per Owners Federal Tax ID, not to exceed 80% total project cost.
• Any rebate or combination of rebates in excess of the customers annual contribution to the Conservation and Load Management Fund, is based on pre-approval and will be at the sole discretion of the utility.
