Winter Storm Fern will be dropping a significant amount of snow on the area between Sunday morning and Monday morning. While snow in and of itself generally does not cause power outages it can lead to secondary scenarios that do. Projected wind speeds, though not substantial, are enough that combined with snow accumulation could create a power outage situation. Groton Utilities will have linemen at the ready in both Groton and Bozrah throughout the storm. In the event of outages linemen will work to safety restore power as soon as the storm will allow. Please be prepared for the potential loss of power.
