Annual Water Main Flushing Schedule

As part of Groton Utilities continuing effort to provide the highest quality water to our customers and to ensure fire protection capabilities, we will conduct an annual hydrant flushing program. Most hydrant flushing will be conducted during daylight hours. Limited flushing will occur evenings and weekends.

Groton Utilities will begin its annual water main flushing and cleaning program Tuesday, May 31st. The program is scheduled to be completed by Friday, June 24, weather permitting.

Due to the size of the water mains, all Groton Utilities customers should expect intermittent intervals of water discoloration during the June water main flushing process.

Click here for the current hydrant flushing schedule.

During this time, our customers may experience a change in water pressure or some water discoloration. To avoid discoloration of clothes, please check water prior to doing laundry. Run water for 5-10 minutes and the water should clear. If water discoloration persists, please contact Groton Utilities Customer Care Department at 446-4000.
