Groton Utilities offers electric rates, which are among the
lowest in the State of Connecticut and below investor-owned
utilities, while providing very reliable service. Our Electric
Division reported gross revenues of $43,820,481.01 for the
twelve months ending June 30, 2003, based on the sale of
600,141,669 kilowatt-hours of electricity.
Groton Utilities water rates
remain among the lowest in the state, bettering the rates of
most investor and municipally owned water utilities.
The Water Division continues to meet
all federal and state standards, as we have in the past.

Our
Water Division reported gross sales of $5,847,598.39 for the
twelve months ending June 30, 2003, based on the sale of 2.2
billion gallons of water. Water Division employees operate and
maintain a water system which treats, pumps, and delivers an
average of 6-7 million gallons of water daily from its 2.6
billion gallon reservoir system. Our water treatment plant has
a capacity of 14 million gallons of water a day.
Groton Utilities also owns and operates a bottle water
company, the Manitock Spring Water Company, which offers spring
water in bottles and larger containers, cooler rentals, and
coffee service.
In addition, Groton Utilities operates a wastewater
collection and treatment system, which processes an average of
more than two million gallons of wastewater daily for the City
of Groton. |
